There might be some confusions in the Nigerian camp at the ongoing Rio 2016 Olympic Games over the non-release of funds to athletes and officials.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) it has been gathered that the Federal Government had already approved funds for the athletes and officials to meet certain obligations.

Rio 2016: Nigeria's Basketball team lost 87-96 to World number 2, Spain

Nigeria's Basketball team at the Rio Olympics, D'Tigers despite putting up a brave and hard fought tactical battle lost 87-96 to World number 2, Spain.
In the match which started in the late hours of Thursday night and ended this morning, Spain started brightly and ended the first quarter 25-11 ahead of Nigeria, Nigeria then muscled their way through in the second quarter and cut the deficit to just two points, 43-41.

Rio 2016: Mikel Obi pays $4000 to free squad over hotel bills

John Mikel Obi paid $4000 to free the Olympic football squad after the team was held to ransom by hotel officials in Sao Paulo over bills incurred by additional NFF officials according to reports.
According to the report by African Football, the team is comprised of 25 players-18 players and 7 officials, but extra five officials were added to the team's hotel roster, and the hotel management insisted the team pay before departing, but instead of the NFF or the Sports Ministry to pay up the bills, Mikel Obi, who is also Team Nigeria's captain shelled out $4,000 before they were allowed to leave the Sao Paulo hotel to Salvador.

Monday Odigie, assistant coach to Nigeria's Under-23 team coach Samson Siasia has revealed that his house along Benin/Sapele road was burgled while he was with the Olympic team working in Rio, and says only God can judge the perpetrators as valuables such as his Olympic and World Cup medals were stolen.
 
Odigie said the incident took place before the team’s opening game against Japan, but insists that would not weigh him down as he eyes success in Brazil.

Pogba who has been termed as the world's most in-demand midfield talent arrives from Juventus, to rejoin Manchester United, the club that he left for next to nothing in 2012.

Pogba, is expected to wear the No 6 shirt and has signed a £290,000-per-week, five-year contract to work under Jose Mourinho. There is also the option to extend for a further year.

Dressed in her Olympic volunteer uniform, Ms Enya asked her girlfriend Isadora Cerullo, 25, to marry her After Isadora accepted, Enya's fellow local volunteers clapped, cheered and waved love heart balloons.


  According to BBC Sport reporter Luke Denny, Ms Enya said
'She is the love of my life,' she said of her partner. 'I wanted to show people that love wins'.
Same sex marriage has been legal in Brazil since 2003.

Jose Mourinho wins first trophy of Man U career after 2-1 win over Leicester (photos)

F.A Cup champions Man U. defeated Premier League champions Leicester City 2-1 yesterday to win the community shield, handing Jose Mourinho and new star signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic their first silverware with the club.

A Zlatan Ibrahimovic second half goal was all that was needed to overcome a resilient Leicester City side who had equalized through Jamie Vardy after youngster Jesse Lingard scored the first goal of the game.
