Unknown gunmen invaded Gurguzu village, Igabi local
government area of Kaduna State, earlier this week causing havoc in the community.
They ended up killing four persons and injuring six others.
The Nation reports that at least 500 people from the village are
presently displaced and taking refuge at a primary school in Rigasa.
Meanwhile, Kaduna State government has asked the citizens to remain calm
and go about their lawful business as hunt for the attackers continues.
The incident happened at about 6:00pm on Monday, when the gunmen stormed
a farm in the village with motorcycle and shot people on the farmland.
It was gathered that the injured victims are currently recovering at an
hospital in the area.
Briefing journalists after the state Security Council meeting, Assistant
Commissioner of Police, Ahmed Tijjani Abdullahi said, “At about 17:50,
that is 5:50pm yesterday.
"The gunmen invaded the village on bike and killed a farmer and three
other co-farmers. They injured four others and similarly many of the
victims, the injured ones were rushed to the hospital.
“Immediately, we deployed our men to the area and calm has returned to
the village.
Our men are patrolling the whole place. Contrary to what is being
circulated on the social media, this was what actually happened.”
